Join Us for the March for Climate, Jobs and Justice on April 29 in Ithaca

PLEASE JOIN US! The Tompkins County Workers’ Center is cosponsoring a local March for Climate, Jobs and Justice to coincide with the national march in Washington DC this Saturday April 29. We are hoping for at least 1,000 people from across the region to participate in a visible show of concern for the rapid deterioration of the planet. Hundreds of similar marches are planned in cities across the country to protest the reversal of climate protections by the Trump administration. (Click here to watch excellent 1-minute video from Naomi Klein about why we march.)

Our plan is to gather at 11:30 at the Bernie Milton Pavilion on The Commons in Ithaca for a rally and satirical skit by a stiltwalking theater troupe. Then we’ll follow the Fall Creek Brass Band and march down to the Space @ GreenStar where we’ll be hosting a second rally followed by music, food, workshops and a chance to check out local organizations working to protect our climate and shared future.
