Wednesday, 4/8: New Tompkins County Living Wage Figures Announced
(Ithaca) Please join us at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8th, at the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Hall, 701 W. State/MLK St., Ithaca, for the release of the 2026 Living Wage for Tompkins County.
The Tompkins County Workers’ Center is pleased to join in the release of the 2026 Annual Living Wage Report produced by a team from the Ithaca and Buffalo Co-Labs of Cornell’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations led by Ian Greer, ILR Co-Lab Researcher. Through the hard work of the Cornell team, this year’s report will take a deeper look at wage figures in our County.
32 years ago, Alternatives Federal Credit Union released the first Living Wage Study for Tompkins County and updated the study biennially. The study is now released on an annual basis originally intended for internal use by Alternatives, but its release to the public was encouraged by Alternatives’ Board of Directors. Since 1994, the Living Wage Study has stimulated important discussions about the meaning of earning a Living Wage and provided a benchmark for others in the country to use.

Is there a virtual attendance option for this announcement, or will it be in person only?
I’m very interested in the new Living Wage figures and would value the opportunity to attend and ask questions.
As a Teamsters Local 317 Union Steward for the Town of Ithaca public works employees, this information is important to my work, but the daytime meeting time makes in person attendance difficult.
Thank you,
Connor Crandall
