Emergency Rally TONIGHT @ 6; Ithaca College Board of Trustees Meeting

Can you make it to tonight’s Emergency Rally @ 6 p.m. at Ithaca College’s Emerson Suites (Campus Center)?

Faculty, students, members of the TCWC and the larger labor community will be @ Emerson Center to demand answers from the Ithaca College Board of Trustees while they hold a celebration of the implementation of the Ithaca College 20/20 Strategic Plan.

Negotiations between the Ithaca College Contingent Faculty and the Ithaca College Administration have reached a standstill. Following a vote of 88% of Contingent Faculty which authorized action up to and including a strike, Tom Grape, the Chair of the Board of Trustees on Wednesday refused to meet with leaders of the Ithaca College Contingent Faculty Union while he and the rest of the Board are in town.

Ithaca College Security simultaneously sent the union a letter Wednesday attempting to limit faculty rights to free speech and protest on campus and threatening legal action against those who do so.

Nationwide and across Upstate New York, contingent faculty have been taking action to win fair wages and more security in the university system including places like Tufts University, Northeastern University, Fordham University, The College of Saint Rose, and the California State University System.
